Malaysian-style spicy fried noodles (mee goreng)

- 0 vegetable oil
- 0 cloves garlic
- 0 cooked noodles
- 0 leftover shredded cabbage
- 50g cooked prawns
- 0 water
- 2 tbsp dry sherry
- 4 spring onions
- 0 thinly sliced fried shallots
- 3 tbsp fish sauce
- 3 tbsp tomato ketchup
- 2 tbsp sweet chilli sauce
- 1 tbsp ketjap manis
- 0.5 tsp sugar
- 0 salt
Step 1
Combine all the salt ingredients together.
Step 2
Taste for seasoning and balance if necessary.
Step 3
Heat about 2 tablespoons of oil in a large frying pan or wok.
Step 4
Add the garlic, noodles (or spaghetti), meat, vegetables and prawns.
Step 5
Stir quickly and add about 100ml of water.
Step 6
Stir constantly until the water has evaporated.
Step 7
Add the sauce and stir until well-combined.
Step 8
Add the sherry and stir until the liquid is absorbed.
Step 9
Serve with a sprinkling of sliced spring onions and cooked shallots.
